Easter Special

Well folks I got pooped on today. Yup...as in #2! Thankfully it was by a baby chicken. This, as I hope you can tell, is not an everyday occurrence.

What's the special occasion you ask? Well...tomorrow (Saturday, March 27) is the Easter Special at Captured Images, 118 S. Main St., Fort Scott. It's running from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. with no appointment necessary. Bring your kids and get a special Easter photo taken!!! Package prices range from $25 - $125 so there is something for everyone!

This year's background is country-themed with live baby chickens, a clothesline with KEY clothing hanging from it, a chicken coop and various other country-ish stuff.

Snowy Weekend

Had the biggest snowfall in March that I can remember. Despite crazy low temps I photographed the birds in the backyard....the cardinals were out in force Saturday and Sunday!

Ellie

The fantastic and bodacious Ellie visited me on Saturday for a special shoot.

Engagement - Aimee & Jesse

Had a blast with Aimee and Jesse this past weekend. They are two of the easiest people I've ever posed. It's natural for them. Of course, being beautiful doesn't hurt the image quality either!

I'll be shooting their wedding in June 2010 in Nevada, Mo. Can't wait to spend more time with them and make beautiful images!

Favorite Winter Photograph

I just realized I never got around to blogging about this photo here. Crazy story. Actually not really but now I have to live up to the hype and write something entertaining.

Okay, so most of you know that my favorite place in the area is this waterfall. For every 4 trips to this waterfall I might get 1-2 good images. That's it. This is one of them. At least in my mind!

I made this image about the time the sun went down. It was winter (Duh!!!) and there was plenty of ice (as you can undoubtedly see) and it was cold. And I was standing in the water. Somehow my feet didn't get soaked as I was wearing my $30 waterproof boots from Wal-Mart. Best $30 I ever spent!!!

Anyway this was shot at a pretty low ISO and low shutter speed with a 14mm aspherical lens.

Moore Family - Teaser

The Moore Family was in the studio late last Fall. Their order is ready and it's going to be a few days before they can pick them up so I wanted to tease them just a bit and show a photo of a bunch of wallets spread on the sorting table. See you soon Stephanie!

Senior Photos - Ben

Ben Ben Ben.

Seems like it took FOREVER for us to get our schedules matched up just right. But once we did it was glorious! He and I had a good time shooting Saturday morning in some of the nicest weather we've had in 2010.

Ben will graduate in May from Uniontown High School. He's a good kid and pretty witty...and even a bit of a daredevil. Thankfully I didn't get him killed during our photo shoot on the old railroad bridge. I'm sure his mom will appreciate that!

A Weekend of Fun Photos

A death-defying stunt by hanging off the side of an old railroad bridge that spans the Marmaton River. Don't even think about asking where it's located...

Hello Mr. Hawk...
THIS is why I love my front yard. Every night...we get something like this...and a good view of the distant Wal-Mart parking lot.

Baby #2

My wife and I are having a baby! Woot woot. We've known this since a few weeks before Christmas but I don't know if I've made it official, aka put it on THE BLOG!

We already have one child - her name is Mocha and she's a cocker spaniel. You laugh....she's more spoiled than most human beings. She sleeps with us. Pukes on the floor. Pees on visitors. Essentially, we should be prepared....though she hasn't ever worn a diaper...

In less than two weeks we will find out if its a girl or a boy. My preference? Health and adorable.

I used to want a girl to spoil. Lately, though, I've been hearing that boys are easier to raise. So I'll take one of those please!

Early on we had a sonogram to check if it was a single child or multiples. Thankfully it came back saying there was only in there! I'm a twin...so I wanted to make sure early if I should stick around or run for the border. I'll be sticking around...

Two weeks from today is the official sonogram so we will know if its a boy or girl....photos soon!
