Another First - Sports Illustrated Cover Photo
Little did I know when I received my periodical invoice from ICON SMI that it would include payment for a recent Sports Illustrated Book Cover photo!
This was news to me. I try and keep track of all my images with Google Alerts, which alerts me every time my name appears online. It's tough to keep track of images that never make it online though. For instance, an image that gets printed in a magazine or a newspaper won't show up online. So there are always a few surprises when I get paid...and I live for tearing open the detailed invoice showing where my images have landed.
The latest was on Sports Illustrated's "The College Football Book", which is printed periodically.
This was a pretty exciting deal so I thought I'd post it up here for everyone to check out. My image - though small - is the very first image to appear on the cover. Upper left. Kansas University Quarterback Todd Reesing.

Adios Texas!
Back from a week in Texas. The weather was great but I'm glad to be home, even if that does mean cold temps!
This was a vacation of sorts, not a photographic endeavor. BUT don't think I didn't take along the camera. :) I did the typical tourist shots in San Antonio but didn't really pull out the Nikon while visiting with the grandparents.
My favorite shot came on the plane ride home as we were leaving the McCallen, Texas area.
This Saturday I'm speaking at the Pittsburg State Photo Conference. It shall be a joy. Come listen if you like. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.!

Brittany and her hat. :)
My favorite photo from the shoot.
Roomie love.
On Monday I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph one of my greatest friends, Brittany, and her roommate for the past 7.5 semesters.
These two have lived together ever since a lucky run-in at Pittsburg State University (Go Gorillas!!) during their freshman year. Feb. 28 will be the last day they officially live together. They have become great friends and it was evident they shared a bond that will never be broken.
These images are of the two of them.
For a brief bio - Brittany is our designer at Captured Images. She's a design/Photoshop genius. That's not even a worthy description. She's a pretty good photographer too. I've been lucky to know her these past 3-4 years. Samantha (better known as Sammie Jo to Brittany) is an elementary teacher. I've only known her as of recently, but have heard quite a bit from Brittany over the years. These two are top-notch and made great subjects.

A little bit of everything lately
My hard drive crashed. It's the only excuse I can come up with as to why my blogging has been slacking. Lost quite a bit of stuff unfortunately.
As of late I've been shooting more college basketball along with the regular diet of high school hoops I'm used to. These games lend more opportunities for a variety of dunks and athletic ability, which I have come to enjoy quiet thoroughly.
Well...we'll keep this short. I'm dead tired from eating 12 chocolate chip cookies and drinking too much soda all while watching the Cardinals come up just a bit short against the mighty Steelers.
Good night!
